Bimbo Bakeries USA (BBU) has confirmed that employee Social Security numbers were exposed after attackers exploited a zero-day vulnerability in Oracle E-Business Suite. The incident is linked to a third-party vendor using Oracle EBS and follows a broader global extortion campaign targeting Oracle customers. In a data-breach notification dated August 31, 2026, Bimbo Bakeries USA said it learned on December 6, 2025, that attackers had exploited a previously unknown Oracle E-Business Suite vulnerability to obtain files from the affected platform.
