Apple Ships Emergency macOS Patches for Pre-Auth Screen Sharing RCE
gbhackers.com · 67d ago · August 8th, 2026
CVE-2026-65400 lets unauthenticated remote attackers execute code and read files with root-level privileges through the Screen Sharing service — most dangerous when it is exposed to the public internet — with emergency updates released August 6 in macOS Tahoe 26.6.1, Sequoia 15.7.9, and Sonoma 14.8.9. A second Screen Sharing bug, CVE-2026-43760, was disclosed close behind. Deploy immediately or disable Screen Sharing on exposed hosts.
